RACE PARKING

************NEW***********

New this year!

The Ice Rink at Berkley and Mt. Seymour is closed on race day this year.

This means they are allowing ALL racers to park here!

This is highly suggested as it keeps the residents of North Vancouver happy, as this is a continuing problem for them, it is the most convenient and closest to the race site, with the easiest access to transition and the pool!

Please consider using this as your parking option!

What to do when you arrive on race day?

How does the swim start work?

We ask that ALL Divas do what is called a benchmark swim. This means you go and time yourself swimming the 740 meters (with no warm up). This would be your estimated swim time for race day. It helps everybody if you stick to your estimated swim time. This prevents too much passing and lane clogging. We, on average have anywhere from 5 to 8 Diva's per lane, depending on how smooth the lane is moving. We have lane counters that are responsible for counting your lanes, they will tap you on the shoulder or cap when you have 1 lap left. You must swim the last lap, then can come out of the pool. We will be assisning swim caps to you that are colour coded to make the lane counting easier for our volunteers. If you have any discrepancies with the number of laps you swam, please see a tribc official after the race, not at the time of swimming. There will be too much confusion for the counter to deal with this at that time.

After the mandatory pre race meeting, our swim director will be at the entry to the Pool, yelling a time likely 7 minutes and under, anyone whom is in that category should the go to the front of the line, she will then start to address longer swim times, per minute.. 8 minutes, 9 minutes etc.. when you hear your time, you should go towards the doors and ask the Diva's around you, "How long does it take you?" If you are seconds apart you can jossle yourselves, making the faster swimmer go first. The first 15-20 people will be escorted to swim start, and seeded in to the pool one by one to begin the swim. At the pool deck you will handed your swim cap and it will be numbered. You must wear the designated swim cap, unless you have an allergy. Please let the swim director know this in advance. After our first Diva's start to emerge from the pool, we will start seeding in new Divas.

So, please be very aware of the times that are being called out at the pool after our pre race meeting in the front lobby of Ron Andrews. It is a fair wait for some Diva's and the suggested times below are ONLY approximate. We do our best to get all Diva's in the pool as fast as we can, while still making the swim as enjoyable as possible. We don't want to overload the lane and make it a messy swim! So hang tight, make sure to bring some extra food and water so that you don't go hungry before your race. There are a number of bathrooms in Ron Andrews to use while you are waiting as well!
